What is EYDFA?

EYDFA is built on EDFA structure, added with Yterbium doped fiber amplifier module, used to boost fiber signal to a more intensive optical network. EYDFA is mainly use in high power optical amplifier upto 42dBm (even more) total output power.

What is EDFA? EDFA stands for Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier. Its core of an erbium-doped optical fiber is “pumped” with light from laser diodes. EDFA receives optical input and gives optical output without the need to electrical signal converting.

EYDFA Configurations

EYDFA typically has multi-port outputs
-Output Ports: 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256
-Rack mount: 19” 1U, 19” 2U, 19” 3U
-Power Supply: Single power , Dual power
-PON Combiner: GPON / EPON, XGS-PON
-Connector: sc/apc, sc/upc, lc/apc, lc/upc

EYDFA Applications

EYDFA is widely used in analog and digital CATV, FTTx PON, and RFoG (RF over Glass) networks. There is a solution combined with EYDFA for XGS-PON and GPON mixed networks

What is PON EYDFA (EDFA)?

The most important application for EYDFA is enabled with WDM PON combiner inside. CATV signal in 1550nm and PON signal in 1310nm/1490nm or 1270nm/1577nm mix into one fiber under Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology. The RF overlay technology allows GPON/XGS-PON networks to carry CATV signal with Gigabit/10-Gigabit data services to help local MSO save investments and still keep incomes from existing networks.
